Hiraka Consulting LLC ("Hiraka," "we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data. This policy explains what information we collect through hirakaconsulting.com (the "Site"), why we collect it, how we use it, and the rights you have over it.

This policy is written to comply with the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) for any visitors located in the European Economic Area or United Kingdom, in addition to applicable U.S. state privacy laws.

Scheduling (Google Calendar): name, email address, and any details you provide when booking a call, processed by our scheduling provider, Google Calendar.

Analytics (Google Analytics): IP address, device and browser type, pages visited, time spent on the Site, referral source, and general location (city/country level), collected automatically via cookies when you visit the Site — and only after you provide consent, as described in Section 4 below.

We do not knowingly collect payment information, sensitive personal data (e.g., health, religious, or political information), or data from children.

We do not currently use advertising, retargeting, or social media cookies. If this changes, this policy will be updated accordingly.

How consent works on this Site: When you first visit, you will see a cookie banner with the option to accept or reject analytics cookies. We apply this same choice to all visitors regardless of location.

This Site uses Google's Consent Mode, implemented through Google Tag Manager. Before you make a choice, all analytics storage is set to "denied" by default — meaning no analytics cookies are set and no data is sent to Google Analytics until you actively select "Accept." If you select "Reject," or close the banner without choosing, analytics storage remains denied and no analytics data is collected from your visit.

We share data with the following third-party processors, solely to operate the Site and our business:

Google Calendar — scheduling and calendar management

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

6. International Data Transfers

Some of our service providers, including Google, are based in or process data in the United States. Where personal data is transferred outside the EEA/UK, we rely on appropriate safeguards, including Standard Contractual Clauses, as recognized under GDPR Chapter V.

7. How Long We Keep Your Data

Contact form submissions: retained for up to 24 months from your last contact with us, unless you become a client (in which case standard business record retention applies).
Scheduling data: retained per Google's standard data retention practices, or until you request deletion.
Analytics data: retained for up to 14 months in Google Analytics, in line with privacy-conscious default settings, and only collected where consent has been given.

8. Your Rights Under GDPR

If you are located in the EEA or UK, you have the right to:

Correct inaccurate data
Request deletion of your data
Restrict or object to certain processing
Request a copy of your data in a portable format
Withdraw consent at any time (where processing is based on consent)
Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority

9. Children's Data

This Site is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16.
